I am preparing to take the CISSP exam in March and so far purchased the ISC2 new CBK book and Shon Harris new release book. I was thinking of taking a CISSP boot camp prior to exam but not sure it is worth it and/or cost regardless of marketing hype.
Does anyone have experience with such boot camps or recommendations?

I think you know how the vast majority of us here feel about boot camps but I too had at a time or two thought about going in my earlier years. I think I had seen a couple of messages from some guys who use to hang around here about boot camps they went too - and not those who just promote boot camps either - there are lots of those (or was).
I'd have to do a search here on the forums and see what comes up. I'll use boot camp as the key words to look for.

Holly Smokes! $4800 for the only authorized CISSP 7 day boot camp - no way.
by the way, didn't find anything CISSP related, but I limited it to security certs forum, there was 5 pages if I included all forums and I didn't feel like digging through all that . I figure you can handle that.

c r d and TMichael,
Thanks for your input as I do not put much stock in the boot camps either. My only concern of course is that this exam is an inch deep and a mile wide as they say.
As I have learned that "in class training" is greatly exaggerated and after spending X - many dollars and months I can say that I probably would have learned just as well doing independent training. The only real benefit is doing labs but it seems that the scope is typically basic.
I think I will just work with the books I have as material should be sufficient.

Let us know how you like the new CBK and Shon Harris material. My book and DVD is very old now - over 3 yrs old now but I know its still very good research material. But I generally like to keep up with new material when the interest hits me just right and I have the extra funds that burn a hole in my pocket.
